SALT LAMP CARE
Thank you for your recent Custom Himalayan Salt Lamp purchase! We hope you thoroughly enjoy our salt lamp products and think of us in the future for natural health purchases. We would like to take a minute to give you general idea of how these salt lamps work and benefits they provide…
Himalayan Salt Lamps
These lamps are made from natural crystal salt mined in the underground salt mines deep in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains. This crystal salt is hundreds of millions of years old and as a result it has high mineral content, including the 84 natural elements that our body is made up of. In nature negative ions are created by means of wind, sunlight, surf, waterfalls, and rainstorms. Generally, a negative ion is an electronically charged molecule that has lost its electrons through process of air pollution. The healthy negative ions emitted by these beautiful lamps helps purify the air we breathe and sends oxygen to the brain. This allows us to have increased energy, fight off bacteria, relieve stress and depression, and return our mind, body, and soul to a natural state of well-being and serenity. These lamps range in color from the deepest warming reds to an eye catching coral and all the way down to the purest crystal white…Choose your color therapy and enhance your lamp and mood with an aromatherapy oil of your choice.
Lamp Caring Instructions
Properties of Salt Lamps: Salt is hygroscopic, meaning it naturally absorbs moisture particles from the surrounding environment. The resulting effect is the lamp surface area will begin to sweat as it works to repel excess moisture. Therefore, Himalayan salt should never be exposed to rain, dipped in water or placed in moisture prone environments, such as basements with poor ventilation. If your lamp begins to sweat, do not be alarmed; the salt lamp is performing its natural obligation. Profuse sweating indicated the surrounding environment is too moist for the lamp to function properly. If this is the case, we strongly urge you to find a more suitable climate for the salt lamp.
Cleaning the Lamp: Turn the lamp off and let it cool. Locate a damp cloth
(not soaking wet), sponge or towel and wipe the surface clean of any moisture or dust. It is recommended that you leave your mal lit as much as possible to achieve optimal ionization and best air purifying results. Additionally, the heat provided by the bulb will drastically reduce the amount of moisture build-up around the lamp.
Bulb Replacement Instructions
Before changing the bulb, make sure the lamp has had time to cool off, and then unplug it. Turn the lamp sideways, squeeze the metal prongs and pull the bulb holder straight out. Remove the old bulb and replace it with a new one. We recommend 5 to 25 watt candelabra based bulbs. Replacement bulbs can be found in most large-scale retail outlets, including Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Dollar Stores and local hardware stores. And feel free to experiment with color bulbs too.
